ABOUT DR. UKANA BASSEY | ADC GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANT AKS 2027
Dr. Ukana Bassey is a medical doctor, public servant, and proud son of our state, committed to ushering in a New Dawn through DUB — Democracy, Unity, and Breadwinning. My journey has taken me from serving our people at home to practicing medicine in the United States, where I am a board-certified Internist and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American College of Osteopathic Internists (FACOI), and the Society of Hospital Medicine (FHM).
My passion for public service began early. I had the honor of representing Nsit Ibom State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2003, where I gained firsthand experience in governance and legislation. Beyond politics, I have remained deeply connected to our people through patronage of numerous socio-cultural organizations in the United States and through my work as Medical Director of Imabridge Africa, participating in annual medical missions across Africa.
Under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), I offer a vision anchored on strong democratic institutions, a productive economy that creates jobs, revitalized agriculture and rural development, quality education and youth empowerment, accessible healthcare and social welfare, reliable infrastructure and energy, environmental stewardship, and lasting peace, unity, and inclusion.
